Roscoff

Lizzie and I visited one of our most favorite places on Sunday ,Roscoff in Brittany .
Full of History and charm , on the coast and so friendly and picturesque.
We were on the way home but had time for a delicious lunch in the sun ,how do they make their quiche???
The fishing fleet was just unloading some amazing things , see a few thumbnail shots on Flickr and my sidebar .
I still struggle to get gadgets to work! and cannot remember what I did the last time.

1920's Wool Work on hessian Wall Panel

This stunning piece of 1920's woolwork is one of two but not a pair. The second one has damage although the woolwork is perfect and I think would applique to a piece of rustic linen. I have started on the outline and the woolwork would be quite stable enough to recover.

My Sam

This is my daughter Samantha,my eldest. Sam is down for a couple of girlie days with mum and we have already hit the shops, our local charity shops have just put out their winter stuff and we came home with some trophies, mostly black or near black of course
I let the side down by buying a flash pink suitcase on wheels which was a bargain and I like the colour. I need a suitcase on wheels for my French excursion this coming weekend and also for October. My other "equipage" is a vintage job and been much admired at the French Braderies It carries masses , It has done Stirling service so hope we manage to fill it up , we will show you our treasures next week

Bath and West weekend

We were so lucky as you see.. we had two days sunshine for our weekend at Shepton Mallet.
Friday was a bit cold and grey but we managed and had our gazebo attached to Freida so it was all still there next day which dawned bright and sunny.
It was a most sociable weekend as we saw people we do not see very often as it is a while since we did this show.
At the end of the day it all added up to a really good weekend so although we were very tired when we got back to offload at the store ,it was all worth the four days hard work and we managed to buy a few things too.

Upwey Spinners dyeing day

I took a day off to spend a day dyeing with my spinners group from Upwey, my first attempt at natural dyeing so high excitement and I had managed to prepare a few things at the last moment with Lizzies help on the mordant front.
Lizzie joined us as a guest and we had a wonderful day on Mildred Cox's Farm in the sunshine ..how lucky is that!
Annabel Wilson came with her expertise and an Indigo Vat, you can book workshops with her www.townhillstudio.co.uk she takes small groups and I am going to sign up.
The girls had also made up madder , onion skins and alkenet , should check the spelling on that! it is an amazing lilac/grey/taupe.
I have taken loads of pictures which I will filter in later.
At the end of the day to use up the vat we dipped a French sheet ...oh wow am I hooked !!!!
