Bridport Vintage Market August 29th

I popped into www.oldalbion.co.uk yesterday to see Sharon and Mike in their Emporium on Bridport's St Micheals trading Est. They are looking forward to seeing us all for another fun day at the Vintage Market they have been running the last Sunday of the month for a few months now.
Starts noon next Sunday, the Cafe is now open as will be the many units of Antiques and retro treasures and a good selection of visiting stall holders who set up in the square.
Well worth a visit, I had a nice bonus on my social visit as I bought a lovely pair of blue cotton floral eiderdowns, thanks Sharon

Latest finds

Lizzie and I had a great trip to France and are wading through the new buys, washing and ironing is the order of the day.
We had a lovely drive down to our friends after a good crossing arriving in time for a pre supper drink outside on the bench watching the horses. The girls had their friend Troy staying and he is a rather handsome bay hunk so there is lots of squealing going on, all amusing entertainment.
Lizzie and I managed to fit in quite a lot of our calls and the pile was growing nicely with one or two really star buys.
Sunday Ticky took us to a huge Vide and we were so early we nearly proceeded the stall holders! the French are not as fanatical as us about early starts. We had a coffee and croissant while watching the scene unfold .It was a bit wet and mizzly and the site is hilly so the tractors were pulling vans onto the site!! Anyway in due course we did the rounds and hoovered up some really nice things, plus Lizzy got a chandelier for her bedroom and Ticky a pitch fork,we were home in time for a " full English " before the rain set in.

" We are Sailing....."

Thursday crack of dawn will see us sailing out of Portsmouth on the Normandie heading for five days rooting and rummaging in our favourite haunts and one big Vide Grenier on behalf of Franglais.
We are staying with our good friends Nick and Ticky and their growing menagerie so it will be a fun trip. I have started on the ex pat shopping list which makes interesting reading from chocolates to horse medicine.
Any shopping requests please e mail and I will do my best, we are bound to come home with some new buys. I just can't wait to get to the port, however we have Homespun and Honiton to do first!

Perfect Pink

There is something about " Eiderdown pink " ! it 's the combination of colours all faded down to a lovely gentle, romantic look.
Having won the battle with all the feathers I will have some nice re cycled fabrics for Homespun at Portscatho next weekend August 8th.

Franglais at Ardingly

Lizzie and I were " new girls " at Ardingly at the beginning of the week and decided to go for it with a hired { reliable ! } van a full blown shopping arcade and two nights at a Travel Lodge.
We found the food surprisingly good and the room nice , Tuesday dawn seemed to arrive rather quickly ! and we were off to the Showground in anticipation.
We had a great spot down to the advice of Sandra friend and furniture dealer who knows the ropes. We were able to park the van opposite which was perfect for the surplus linen and the odd R&R away from the heat.
The whole atmosphere was great and we shall definitely be going again, and yes we did well.
