Puce de Couturiere

Lizzie and I are off on our first French " Gig " of the year ( weather permitting you may remember some dramatic moments a couple of years ago involving blizzards and ditches ! )
We are off to stay with our lovely friends Tick and Nick and hopefully truffle out some new treasures for our followers.
We are standing at the local dressmaker's fleamarket where we take the English stuff to the French and at the same time buy lots of interesting bits and bobs.
Last year they liked us a lot and we were invited to and did another further up country, you can only do two events a year in France without getting bogged down in French tax, on  these events they do take your details.
I am really excited at the prospect of doing the rounds of our regular spots and on Sat. there is a Brocante so hopefully we will have lots of new ammunition for upcoming events.
we are on the overnight Ferry to Caen this time so we have all day to arrive at Les Pannards so if it looks a bit icy we can have a long breakfast and wait for the roads to warm up!
Swiss Normandy is hilly hence the name
wish us luck

little boxes how I love little boxes

Sorry not to have Blogged for a while but I have had my head buried in several sewing projects which I have now completed.
I have had a busy time getting my unit down at the Dorchester Curiosity Centre up and running and have enjoyed having a little permanant retail outlet.

I went on my first "call" of the year and came home with some new treasures, these little boxes are just so lovely , wonderful quality workmanship to house sewing aids, definitely a cut above

New Year's Project

After several days in front of the fire and rubbish films, I am pleased to welcome the New Year with my latest throw, just the backing to do. All that hand stitching I am aching but pleased .
I have done three this winter which is a bit of a record . I was inspired by the colours when I found my latest Fair Isle, it is usually that that pulls the whole thing together and sparks me off, I have to like the colours, too much work otherwise

Victorian Doll's trousseau

This little box of delights was " truffled " out of a Victorian loft, so new to the market.

nearly all perfect , one bonnet has a little damage and a stain I have to tackle on the bloomers that look like ink.
16 items in all.
make me a good offer and they can be yours just in time for Christmas
