Devon Garden Party for Quilters

Well this is a good start! what a beautiful spot, quite complicated directions, then I realised I had started to read Lizzies quilt instructions!! after some very pretty roads and tiny streets on the estuary we knew we were in the right place when we were greeted by these chickens ! has anyone got the pattern??? I love Chickens ..these are rather superior birds in hand dyed fabrics
Sue Spooner textile artist, maker and gardener supreme invited " Franglais " to join her and two quilting groups for an afternoon in the garden and wonderful Devon cream tea....these girls know how to treat themselves!

As you see the weather was glorious and we were able to sit in these gorgeous gardens and there were some wonderful works in progress to enjoy amongst these talented makers
"Franglais" was shown off to it's best and provided some entertainment and hopefully these groups will attend our other textile fairs now they have had a taste.

After a glorious and most enjoyable day we enjoyed Sue's warm hospitality and had a lovely evening watching the sun go down and talking textiles of course
Can we really call this work!

Devon delight

There are some places that are just so special you feel so lucky just to share it for a day . This Devon garden belonging to Sue Spooner is one of those treasures.
Thank you so much for inviting us.

Rustic patched and dyed

This is the result of my dyeing a patchwork of random French linens, wondering if some embellishment of some sort is required ?? buttons perhaps or red and white initial tape perhaps just some top stitching ?
