Rags to Riches in Bridport

We had such fun! Well after we got everyone settled, a new venue is always  a bit fraught. It is a lovely Hall and full of good light. The Street market stretches almost to the door so with posters and Caroline's bunting we were hard to miss.
The customers were soooo thrilled and we met lots of new faces which is good for forthcoming events. We were really busy and most stall holders seemed pretty happy , customers were wanting to know when the next one would be.It was a very good light hearted atmosphere ,thanks for all your support I know both Caroline and I will sleep well tonight knowing you all had a good time.
As always we all shopped with each other in the latter part of the fair, tops up the day and I was pleased with my purchases.

Digging Deep

I took advantage of the good weather on Sunday plus the fact a huge amount of our textiles were in my living room having just returned from Cornwall., to empty out everything I thought would do for the Rag market at Bridport next Sat. 18th of April.
I have a pile of lovely embroidered Sari shawls, rainbow colours from £5.00 ,lots of small household linens and a reasonably priced range of French sheets suitable for soft furnishing, backing quilts and hand work.
A fantastic selection of buttons and beads and my haberdashery and sewing aids.
Lots of trims and ribbons , threads and vintage fabrics. Our ticking collection in reds blues and neutrals.
vintage blankets , and of course my quilts.
No doubt before the week is out the pile will have grown.
My studio is now really ordered, pity about the house!

Isobelle de Borchgrave

Please visit this link, It is a delight especially the video.
I discovered it when I bought a wrap at Honiton textile Fair which was made by Petrusse and designed by Isobelle de Borchgrave.
I find it quite inspirational.
I used to sell shawls to Petrusse which she took to India to be the base for her designs for her shop in Paris and Bordeaux. We met at Olga's fabulous antique textile fair in La Mans.
I visited the shop in Paris. It very chic, imagine my pleasure to have this find at Honiton.
