France cont. Msr Gosselin

Friday morning is market day in Valognes and after a trip to Barneville Carteret (where I bought an amazing jacket my birthday pressie from David reduced from 169eur to 50 eur how good is that! ) we went off to market on another cloudless day and spent a happy hour amongst the stalls before heading for our lunchtime destination the harbour side of St Vaast where we have always crammed ourselves into the front deck of a tiny cafe almost a kiosk where we used to have crepes and a cup of cider while watching the oyster tractors and the boat traffic.
Quel damage!! it was gone ! however the place next door looked inviting and was a huge success .Penny had spotted a starter of pan fried prawns in balsamic so with some bread and frites and salad it was a feast, sort of caramelized onions and balsamic with prawns , can't wait to try my own version.
St Vaast has an emporium which has been there since 1920 and is a place not to pass by if you are a foodie. It is a pilgrimage for us
