This was my booty from the market ....1940's French dolls furniture and a crib to come! Also wire hanging planters which I love.

Les Allees and Old Albion Bridport Vintage Market

Well done Sharon of www.oldalbion.co.uk today was great fun and had a lovely buzz. The dealers of the units on St Michaels estate Bridport down les allees threw open their doors and had a market.
Sharon had invited a few other chosen dealers to do market stalls and the girls who are opening the cafe had an outside tea room plus a lovely old fresh pizza waggon was serving up delicious food.
They hope to do it on a Sunday afternoon once a month and I for one will be going .it seemed such a good atmosphere, not many textiles but loads of vintage clothes decorative items and furniture. I think there is room for we textile girls

Is it a kite Grandma?

Yesterday I took the afternoon off and went with Yvonne to be " deputy grandma " with her two visiting grand sons , my goodness gone are the days of the old windbreak ! the beach had an amazing selection of folding beach " bendies " for keeping bags and children cool.
This construction rendered me helpless but Grandma won .
Lyme is one of my chosen places , I love it . The beach is spotless, you can rent and ice cream coloured beach hut by the day or week ...how cool is that.
We had lovely fish and chips buckets and spades windmills and on the way along the prom an ice cream.
My childhood if full of memories of getting on the tram and everyday possible a group of us with a couple of brave mums used to go to Cat and Dog stairs and spend all day there. When the tide came in we had to retreat to the prom and there was a green hut that used to sell pots of tea. funny I don't remember rain at all !
I did call in to Susie Cole's shops which are worth a trip , just wonderful and I managed to buy just the right present in their inside out shop Ginger Beer.

Hello could not resist showing you a favourite corner of my garden down near my studio, do come for coffee we can sit in the sun.
I have been busy re sorting after a very good weekend at Petworth with Lizzie and Elizabeth Baer. We were blessed with perfect weather and if you are down that way you MUST go to the Horseguards Inn , look up their website.

Flying the flag....for Scotland ??

I have bought this stunning Durham .

Red and white " strippy " on the back , the patchwork on the front includes The Scottish Lion rampant. But also a big white lion on a red background, some other lions in red and more in beige also a harp with a figurehead I cannot find the flag and wondered if anyone out there might help??
I think it must be the North or Scotland as it is traditional Durham quilting.
It has some real quirky bits of patchwork too all beautifully put together.

In another life I was a furniture dealer

I always loved wood and polished everything in sight in my kitchenalia and furniture days. I still can't resist doing the odd piece, makes such a change from ironing!
Is'nt this little spice unit a sweetie ? This one is destined for Poundbury in the Brocante department, I have been out spreading the word and papering the streets girls to make sure you get a good turn out June 2nd.
