When a summerhouse becomes a beach hut

We had a delightful evening at my friend Yvonne's last night . We enjoyed every last ray of sunshine over a glass of wine in her delightful little " beach hut "
Last summer she decided to turn all the junk out of her summerhouse and give it a new look. She can enjoy the garden with music at her fingertips and her laptop to hand, the perfect escape for her writing.
This year more has been added and it is on my list to look for sea side items to add to the decor.
It just shows what a bit of imagination can do.....have you a corner for a little hideaway? even a modest little shed can provide a little haven , we girls love our sheds

We are Sailing...

Yes those of you who know me will recognize this picture! yes ! I am off to France dawn tomorrow and can't wait to board the Normandie. The wheel has fallen off the Seacat so we are being sent to Caen and will have a new route to try to Barneville which we are looking forward to.
I have a strange shopping list which is growing daily, we go to our favourite food emporium in St Vaast.That corner of the Cherbourg Peninsular is so different and the beaches on the North coast are usually quiet. You can find lovely granite sand and I have found lots of shells. If you have not been and have some time before your ferry take a detour it is delightful.

My son Lawrence has been to Japan with his friend Nagisa, they stayed in Tokyo and in the countryside with her family.

Two swallows first sighting

How exciting I have seen my first swallows today down by the sea.

Oh what a lovely day we had...

Today we went to Chagford on the moor in Devon is a delightful place and the sun was shining which made it perfect.
There is something 50's and Enid Blyton about the village Hall I love and Sheila Hyson lays it out with little side tables and chairs where one can sit and enjoy refreshments which were excellent may I say !!
It was well attended and a variety of people arrived to dig through the bargain boxes, the October one was busier but we had a good day... bought some sold some and had fun.
Home safe and sound and the prospect of a quiet day tomorrow

Fair Isle Rag Bags

Another string to my bow or whatever the expression is! I am doing 12 inch " Rag Bags " of Fair Isle pieces to go with my bundles , felted blanket squares and quilt bits all of which I will have at Chagford Rag market on Saturday.
I am rather pleased with the colour combinations and look forward to seeing what you clever ladies do with them.
My friend Sara started the useful " felted phone cosies " for mobiles and they work a treat. Patchwork felted bags are another fun project.

Textile Day at Dairy House

I must say everyone took such lovely pictures of Dairy House. I was soo busy I only took a few to send to my friend Ticky who used to run Dairy House when I first had a room there .
I want to show her how lovely Sue has made it and to tell her the atmosphere of fun and warmth is still there.
It was an impressive Event and all the comments have been really positive well done Sue, Lizzie and your great Team who made everything run like clockwork
